Today is October 5th, and we're excited about it for a couple of reasons. Our clients and partners know that energy efficiency is important to us. So it should come as no surprise that we want to celebrate today, National Energy Efficiency Day. But there's another reason why today is so special - it's also National Smile Day!
OUR CONNECTION TO SMILES
As a family business, we take great pride in the charities we support. Many of you know of our efforts in Haiti, providing funding for education opportunities and partnering directly with a parish in Layaye. While Haiti is very close to our hearts, we are also proud sponsors of Operation Smile.
What is Operation Smile?
Operation Smile is a global organization of highly qualified surgeons that provide exceptional surgical procedures and care to children born with a cleft condition. They offer a life changing opportunity to these children and their families by performing cleft palette and cleft lip surgeries for free, through the help of their donors.
Advocates of Operation Smile
Our founder, Bob McGreevy, can't help but support the most efficient solutions - even charitable ones. At just $240 a surgery, you can change the course of child's life for the better. There are very few things you can do with $240 that will have that much impact. As Bob puts it, "if you could impact somebody's life in a way that would help them be educated and accepted in society, wouldn't you be willing to do that? For $240 you can change a person's life forever". A monthly Smile Partner and advocate for Operation Smile, Bob was featured in their August Newsletter, as their Smile Partner spotlight story.
